Eagan, Minnesota
April 19, 2005
There were many tournament brackets hanging in people's offices for the Men's NCAA basketball tournament, but it was up to BIG INK of Eagan Minnesota to produce the world's largest, official 48 feet by 72 feet bracket that was hung in downtown St. Louis Missouri, the site of the tournament's Final Four. The sign was then updated real-time, after each round with digitally printed panels that BIG INK provided. "We sent panels for both teams, so it was up to the guys in the cherry-picker to get the right one on after each game," quipped Tom Trutna, owner of BIG INK.
The huge banner served as a backdrop for visitors to the stadium, interviews conducted during the tournament and as a fade out during the telecast of the games. "This was a particularly exciting project, because the banner was not only big, but constantly changing. It mirrored the sense of excitement that was going on in the tournament," explained Trutna. This was the third banner BIG INK supplied for the NCAA tournament.
BIG INK excels in providing high quality product and service in all areas of digital printing including trade show and event graphics, outdoor banners, vehicle graphics, retail signage, corporate sign programs and more. "It is our ability to help move a project from conception to final destination shipping that makes us invaluable to our customers. We use our experience and knowledge to make suggestions like using Velcro panels for the NCAA project, which made application faster and easier this year than in the past," explained Trutna.
